THE AQUAPORIN INSIDE™ MEMBRANE FEATURED IN SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS SCIENCE DOCUMENTARY
The EU-FP7-funded education project “Materials 4 A Sustainable Future” aims to reveal the importance of advanced materials in our everyday lives. It is built up by a film and an interactive computer game, available in 23 European languages.
The documentary film, “The Secret Life of Materials”, reveals some of the most innovative new generations of materials and how they will transform our world and lives.
One of the sustainable materials covered in the documentary is the Aquaporin Inside™ – revolutionizing water purification .
Inspired by nature, we follow the membrane on a journey from the R&D lab in Denmark all the way to where it helps us save precious potable water in Greece!
The membrane makes it possible to irrigate land and grow vegetables, even in one of the driest parts of Europe: Crete. The Greek island has plenty of sun and is surrounded by seawater, but is soon running out of potable water. See how the Aquaporin InsideTM Membrane helps create a sustainable future for agriculture in world where water is scarce.
